This time last year these jeans wouldn't even go passed my knees.. This year, they're now too big on the waist!! Always keep an old pair of jeans to measure your changing body! This is going to sound very soppy BUT joining Bounce Fitness is probably one of the best things I've done in a long time, and one of the most enjoyable things too. Working out with a fab bunch of people who are constantly encouraging you every step of the way without any competitiveness make it all the better and sure having somebody train you and motivate you without them turning into Hitler is just the icing on the cake. As for the fabulous friends I've met well they are just the cherry on top.

Bootcamp is never a chore - even if we do moan every now and again :-)

I started Kettlebells in May 2012 after a flyer came in the door. I didn't know much about Kettlebells but had read somewhere that when you reach 35 years of age, you lose 1% of your muscle tone, so I decided to do something about that. I went on my own which sometimes is a brave thing to do - we all like to have pals to bring with us to these classes but sometimes you just have to do it for yourself.  

Anyway, I went along and Rob the trainer was just great, he introduced us all to each other so there was no awkwardness. He's tough but fair and motivational. And he'll give you plenty of diet advice too. It was tough at first (still is if I'm honest!) but it's great fun and I can really see the difference in those areas we all hate, like the bingo wings & thighs.  

In September then I decided to up the ante and take on a class of bootcamp too. There is nothing better than heading out on a dark evening after a long day in the office to run and jump around like you were 6 again, and in all weathers. It might not sound like fun but believe me, it is. The classes are tough enough but you can have a laugh along the way and you feel fantastic when you're finished. The other bootcampers are brilliant too, very friendly and good fun.  

Result: I've had to rethink my whole wardrobe because nothing fits me anymore. I even texted Rob this week to tell him I moved my belt 3 inches from the original notch so that's amazing. I feel more alive and healthier. I get masses of compliments from my colleagues, friends and family. Everyone wants to know the secret. I'm not gonna tell ye that - come along and join in! If you feel too scared because your pals won't do it, bite the bullet and just come along anyway.

I started training with Rob and Bounce Fitness at the beginning of 2014. After a hard year last year, I was putting on the pounds and didn't know how to stop. I was getting bigger and more miserable by the day. Rob made me feel at ease straight away and assured me that he could help me. 6 weeks on and I'm fitter and happier than I've ever been. Training was a never a chore, and after a week or two I really got in to the healthy eating too and was never hungry. I can't wait to see what another 6 weeks will do, and I owe it all to Rob.

I started Bounce Fitness Bootcamp in May 2010 for two reasons; one was the same reason many people start to exercise – to lose weight and get fit. The second, more important reason was to fix a back problem that had been seriously affecting me since 2007.

By the time I joined bootcamp, I’d spent the guts of two years going to physiotherapy and spending a lot of time swimming and doing pilates just to maintain my back and keep me somewhat limber. My Physiotherapist was happy that the swimming and pilates had brought some improvement, however, he was concerned that I may require an operation on my back if my core strength didn’t drastically improve. The bootcamp flyer couldn’t have landed on my doormat at a better time.

I thought I was relatively fit from the swimming, pilates and walking I was doing; that was until I went to my first bootcamp session. The class was held out in the park and was set –up like circuit training - the only difference was, unlike gyms, there was no complicated equipment, the stations were made up of simple exercises like running, sit-ups and press-ups. What really resonated with me that first class and still stays with me today is that all we were trying to do is move our own body weight, something I found very difficult to do. Don’t get me wrong, I found the first class very hard, I was out of breath within 5 minutes and was very stiff and sore the next day but the short and long-term benefits far outweigh the tough hour of bootcamp I do every Tuesday and Thursday.

I didn’t really see any difference in my fitness until 5 weeks later and the next term started. Only then did I notice that I could run a little bit further, do a few more press-ups and flip the tyres a few more times than the new recruits. The difference was fantastic and really spurred me on. Nearly a year on, I’m still bootcamping and am completely addicted. I’ve tried loads of different sports in my time but this is the only exercise I’ve ever stuck too.

Rob Wormald, who founded and runs the Bounce Fitness Bootcamps, is the ultimate professional, his knowledge of exercise and nutrition is unparalleled and he knows how to push us all to our maximum without the screaming and shouting you would expect when you hear ‘bootcamp’. We never do the same class twice so we never get bored and never know what to expect - he definitely knows how to keep us on our toes. We’ve trained in hail, rain, shine and snow and the worse the conditions, the better the class!

My fitness has improved in incomprehensible terms – I’ve lost inches, I’ve lost weight, I feel great and my energy levels are sky high. We are even running an 8km race soon – something I thought I would never be able to do. More importantly, my back hasn’t given me an ounce of trouble in over 6 months – my Physiotherapist tells me that my spine has never been in better shape – back problem solved! Another surprising benefit is all the friends I’ve made. There is a great team spirit and we all encourage each other. Exercise has turned into fun. Long may Bounce Fitness Bootcamp continue.

I joined Bounce Fitness just over a year ago. At the time I hadn’t exercised in years and the realisation that I really needed to do something about had started to set in.

A year on I am the fittest I have ever been; I haven’t looked back.

The classes are tough, but leave you feeling energised and ready to face the next challenge. Rob, our trainer, supports and develops each and every one of us. He recognises individual needs and he’ll strive to ensure we exceed our personal bests.

The members of the Bounce Fitness team are friendly, inspiring and motivational. We are without a doubt one big family and we work together to make sure the classes are fun, productive and above all our fitness levels are increased.
